Toboggan rides & horse-drawn sleighs

Obertauern’s toboggan slope on the Gnadenalm is 1.5 kilometres long, and illuminated every evening. The starting point and end of the run are right beside the Gnadenalm (four kilometres from Obertauern). You can travel up the mountain in comfort on the Skidoo toboggan taxi – and it’s worth it just for this ride alone. Each motorised sled has room for seven passengers, the toboggans are hung from the sides, and off you go. Toboggans can be hired at the Gnadenalm.

Tobogganing in Obertauern certainly won’t ever be boring! There is also a second toboggan slope on the Gnadenalm. This run starts in front of the Südwiener hut and covers approximately five kilometres. The forest track to the Südwiener hut is graded every winter to make sure nothing gets in the way of a hilarious toboggan expedition on your family holiday in Obertauern! All the necessary equipment can be hired from the hut.

You will be warmly covered with blankets to enjoy a sedate glide through the countryside to the sound of hoofbeats and the occasional snort from your two-horsepower ride. One-hour rides may be booked every day between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm.
