Hiking in the snow, taking a stroll or tramping all over the Salzburg region.
Obertauern’s snow-covered hiking paths are waiting to welcome you! Winter hiking in Salzburg makes a great après-ski alternative, calorie burning activity to fill in some time or aid to the digestion after dinner – and it’s in season all winter. Every year, Obertauern transforms into a true winter fairytale for nature-lovers. Hiking in Obertauern can also include adventurous snowshoe expeditions from the Gnadenalm to the Südwiener hut and from the Hundsfeld cross-country ski trail to the World Cup cross-country ski trail. Why not give it a try!
Setting off from the front of the Gnadenalm, you follow the winter hiking trail from the parking area towards the back of the Gnadenalm. Then you come to the ascent to the Südwiener hut. And if you don’t fancy tackling the return journey on foot, you can always take a toboggan back down the slope. Toboggans can be hired on site.
